Who’s Who in 2022, Business: Shaneal Sharma
Published 2:45am 3 December 2022
When it came to choosing a location for his new business venture, Shaneal Sharma found the perfect spot he was looking for at Woody Point in 2022.
Shaneal bought the row of shops on King Street in June 2022 and transformed it into the Woody Point Market Place – a complex for foodies and artists to enjoy a meal and live entertainment.
The precinct serves up a variety of cuisines to suit all tastebuds, including pizza, gelato and a secret wine bar.
About Shaneal Sharma
Shaneal Sharma is the creator of the newly refurbished Woody Point Market Place, which opened late 2022.
He bought the complex, which he said ticked all his boxes for creating a complex that catered for foodies and artists, on June 9.
He also loved how close it was to the water, and how the complex would not only appeal to locals, but also visitors to the region, as they could wander up and grab a bite to eat.
Shaneal spent many months choosing the right businesses that he thought would complement his vision.
He handpicked a variety of businesses and cuisines to feature as part of the Woody Point Market Place, including Eat Pizza, Oh Gelato, Wine Blvd, and Capulet and Co – saying he wanted the best of the best for his customers.
Shaneal also chose to support two businesses that were already operating in the complex – including the recently renamed King Street Butcher Co and the launderette.
In addition to the new businesses, he created a garden where the businesses could grow their own herbs and vegetables for their dishes – ensuring an authentic garden to plate dining experience.
A large outdoor seating area was also constructed where large groups of people could gather and enjoy a coffee and a catch up, or even listen to come live music.
Creating a space for artists and performers to come and share their craft was important for Shaneal, who is also a former Australian pop star.
Shaneal’s love for music stemmed from when he was a young boy and he competed in eisteddfods on the Redcliffe peninsula.
Throughout his musical career, Shaneal performed all over the world and had four top 10 global hits.
Shaneal has collaborated with artists as Kanye West and John Legend, to name a few, and also produces Timomatic – a Nigerian-born Australian singer-songwriter and dancer who rose to fame as a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance in 2009.
In addition, Shaneal is also the Founder and CEO at Transactor, which simplifies the property buying and selling journey by connecting all stakeholders involved in the transaction.
