Winter wonderland for pups to explore
Published 4:00pm 15 August 2024
Moreton Bay pet owners and their furry friends will have the opportunity to experience snow for the first time with a one-of-a-kind experience being held at North Lakes.
Dog lovers will be able to take their best friend for a stroll through the snow, throw snowballs, and capture some memorable photos at the Snow4Dogs experience, which will be held at the shopping centre from August 17-18.
Event manager Anne Kowalewski, who has been instrumental in running Snow4Kids for the past 10 years, says she is excited to bring this magical winter experience to the region.
"The excitement and support we’ve received from the community for our snow events have been phenomenal. We're thrilled to offer a special winter experience for our furry friends and their families at Westfield North Lakes," Anne says.
"Seeing dogs play in the snow is a heart-warming sight. Snow4Dogs is the perfect event for dogs and their owners to create unforgettable winter memories together.”
The event also helps support RSPCA Queensland and the Petstock Foundation, with the option for people to donate to their favourite charity.
RSPCA spokesperson Emma Lagoon says money from the event will greatly help the work they do in caring for animals.
"We're hoping to see thousands of dollars raised for RSPCA Queensland animals from Sunday's ticket sales, but we need the public's help to do that," Emma says.
"If you're purchasing tickets and prompted to donate to the RSPCA, please consider helping other dogs less fortunate than your own.
"It's great for us Queensland dog owners who don't get to experience snow in winter."
