Construction has started on the new Jungle Adventure Play - a $20 million, indoor centre expected to open at North Lakes within 12 months.

On almost 10,000sqm, the McLelland Ct venue will have interactive climbing walls, a high ropes course, playgrounds, ninja courses, mini golf course, café, licenced restaurant and a Tiki bar.

Husband and wife team Lachlan and Jana Walker are expanding after the success of their Jungle Adventure Play in Tingalpa which has sold 450,000 tickets to date.

“This figure represents who is playing, so when you add one or two parents into the mix, you could safely say we have had one million people through our doors in three years,” Mr Walker said.

“We’ve had tremendous community support and we’re excited to now be able to take our vision to provide safe, fun and sun-protected play for all ages to the North Lakes, and Moreton Bay, community.”

Mr Walker said Moreton Bay was identified as a major growth region, supported by a business-friendly council.

The North Lakes location was chosen due to the strong family demographic, with 43 per cent of the suburb’s population being households with children.

“As a family-owned business, we understand the importance of connection and we want to align and grow with communities,” Mr Walker said.

“Not many projects like ours are family owned, and we are committed to benefitting the local community through providing not only another option for fun, but employment for locals.”

Recruitment for the North Lakes centre will involve training new staff at Tingalpa, to deliver a “quality, welcoming experience, from food and beverage service to roles out on the floor and behind the scenes”, Mr Walker said.

Moreton Bay Regional Council earlier this year said the centre would deliver 100 jobs and add $4.3million annually to the local economy, via third party supply contracts and relationships in the community.

Jungle Adventure Play is also looking to include a 520sqm tenancy for lease by a gym or wellness operator and a five-bay car wash operator.
