The first homesites are set to be released mid-year at a new 329-lot development in Burpengary.

Cedar Woods Properties has received development approval for a 29-hectare, $105 million community on Hunt Rd.

Almost nine hectares, more than 30 per cent of the site, will be open space with a recreation park and environmental corridor.

Cedar Woods will also spend more than $5 million on road works at the start of the development.

These will include signals, safety and efficiency improvements, new roundabout access, and bike lanes at intersections and roads.

Ideal location

Cedar Woods Properties Queensland State Manager, Michelle Wooldridge, said Cedar Woods was the “ideal location for our next community”.

“It will offer a variety of homesites, suiting a range of purchasers from first-home buyers through to families and downsizers.”

There will be a seven-hectare green spine running through the community, with more than 200 fauna nesting boxes.

The surrounding nature reserves will provide additional homes for local habitat and a four-metre vegetation buffer will create an entry to the community.

Civil works are expected to start onsite mid-year with the first lots, from 303sqm to 642sqm, to be released to the market just prior.

Strong demand

Seven stages are to be released in total with possibly an eighth, pending approval.

Ms Wooldridge said the recreation park would include play equipment, an exercise loop and a half-size basketball court.

Cedar Woods is within two kilometres of four bus stations and Burpengary train station. It is also close to 16 schools, early learning centres and 12 shopping centres

“We’re expecting strong demand when the first homesites hit the market,” Ms Wooldridge said.

It will be Cedar Wood’s third development in South-East Queensland following, following Ellendale in Upper Kedron in 2014 and Greville in Wooloowin in 2020.
