Originally a part of Burpengary, Burpengary East was separately gazetted in 2010. Burpengary East is an expansion area with a portion of the suburb allocated for potential residential development. As the community develops the area maintains its open spaces with plenty of parks and playgrounds for families to enjoy. Schools are located in neighbouring suburb, Burpengary.
