About Dakabin
Surrounded by the suburbs of Kallangur, Kurwongba, Narangba and North Lakes, Dakabin is a residential and industrial suburb.
Education facilities include Dakabin State School, Dakabin State High School, and Northpine Christian College.
History of Dakabin
It is thought that the name Dakabin was derived from an Aboriginal word describing the grass tree (Xanthorrhoea).
Until 1970’s Dakabin was a rural district, urbanisation in the Pine Rivers Shire saw Petrie expand to Kallangur in 1960s and then to Dakabin.
