Open now for 'healthy' grants

Unitywater is taking applications for its Healthy and Thriving Community Grants Program – for environmental projects in Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa.

Joshua Zugajev, Unitywater Executive Manager Strategic Engagement, said the program would provide grants ranging from $2000 to $20,000.

Projects need to foster collaboration, strengthen community connections and deliver outcomes aligned with community priorities and the organisation’s Strategic Ambition.

“We are proud to be delivering a program that supports enhanced liveability and sustainability outcomes for our communities,” Mr Zugajev said.

“The program is built around three key themes: natural environment and liveability; First Nations peoples and connection to Country; and innovation and the future of water.

“Focusing on these areas will support more connected, healthy and resilient communities where people and the environment thrive together.”

Unitywater has given more than $150,000 in community grants since 2020, providing 29 community groups with funding for programs supporting environmental outcomes.

Mr Zugajev said a new online grants hub would make the submission process smoother for applicants this year.

“The grants hub supports people through the process of submitting and then tracking the progress of their application,” he said.

Eligible applicants must be a community, educational or First Nations-owned organisation delivering the initiative in the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast or Noosa regions.
