History of Narangba

The name Narrangba was supposedly taken from an Aboriginal term that means ridge on which the village was built.

Narangba readily attracted farmers, with soil suitable for dairying and pasture crops. The original village around the railway station had a primary school (1910), a public hall, a church and a shopping centre.
