$15 million upgrade for key road
Published 6:00am 15 January 2023

Design work is underway on $15 million of upgrades along 9kms of Beachmere Road.
The improvements will include changes to two intersections and resurfacing about 2kms from King John Creek to Beachmere Shopping Centre.
More than 500 pieces of feedback were received during the initial community consultation and final feedback was completed late year.
Detailed designs are scheduled to finish this year and construction to begin late 2023.
Right turn lanes
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) says the key features will be widening sections of the road from Jocelyn St to before King Johns Creek.
Intersections at Riversleigh Rd and the marinas will have dedicated right-turn lanes for east-bound motorists and there will be more line marking to improve safety.
Total funding for planning and construction of this Queensland Government project is $15.275 million.
