Police have charged two men with several serious offences following an alleged dangerous driving incident at Murrumba Downs yesterday, July 23.
It will be alleged that about 1.20pm, police were called to the Bruce Highway near the northbound Murrumba Downs exit following reports of shots being fired from a vehicle.
Officers observed a black Commodore, matching the description of the vehicle, before it allegedly evaded police and re-entered the Bruce Highway at North Lakes, travelling north.
It will be further alleged that, while tracked by PolAir, the vehicle continued to Morayfield before turning around and travelling back to Carseldine, then through several suburbs, until the successful deployment of a tyre deflation device at Mount Samson.
The vehicle then continued for a short period of time before being dumped at Watson Rd, Armstrong Creek, and its two occupants fleeing the vehicle.
With the assistance of Police Dog Stryker, officers were able to locate both occupants near Watson Road and take them into custody.
Initial searches of the vehicle failed to find any firearms, however investigations are ongoing. There is no threat to the community.
