There’s heaps happening across the Moreton Bay Region this Australia Day on January 26 including Music in the Park Scarborough and an afternoon of fun and fireworks at Bribie Island.
These two major events are proudly presented by Moreton Bay Regional Council and delivered by Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT).
Mayor Peter Flannery says there is nowhere better in the world to live than Australia and no better place to celebrate than the Moreton Bay Region.
“To mark the occasion, we’re of course hosting the incredibly popular ‘Aussie Arvo’ event at the Lawnton Aquatic Centre, with free entry to carnival rides, bands, a DJ and lots of prizes,” Mayor Flannery says.
“If you love fireworks, Bribie is the place for you! We’ll light up the night across the Pumicestone Passage with not one, but two fireworks barges set up at Bongaree set to go off at 7pm from Brennan Park and Chamber of Commerce Park.
“Families looking for a chilled afternoon can enjoy free live music at Scarborough Beach Park in Redcliffe from 1-6pm. Just bring along your picnic blanket and we’ll have food trucks on site so you don’t have to cook.
“And it’s not just Council putting on a show, get online to check out some of the amazing activities happening at venues in your neighbourhood.”
