Walk-in vaccinations are now on offer at Kippa-Ring and Caboolture as the vaccination blitz shifts up a gear across the Moreton Bay Region. It comes as Moderna is available at 19 pharmacies across the region.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has today announced more walk-in vaccination opportunities in more vaccine hubs in an effort to get more Queenslanders vaccinated.

The Premier says walk-ins for people aged 12 years and older are available across Metro North Health’s four COVID-19 vaccine clinics from today.

It follows 3264 vaccinations at three sites in the Moreton Bay Region during last weekend’s vaccination blitz.

At this stage, 62.5 per cent of the Moreton Bay Region population has received their first dose, 42.5 per cent are fully vaccinated (as at September 19).

“Caboolture Square, Doomben Racecourse, Kippa Ring and Brisbane Entertainment Centre at Boondall will all be available for COVID-19 vaccinations, with no booking required,” Ms Palaszczuk says.

New focus with more supply

Health Minister Yvette D’Ath says the move to a walk-in model for COVID-19 vaccination will provide further convenience for those on Brisbane’s northside, with anyone available to take advantage of the expanded vaccination capability.

“We’ll now have five walk-in vaccination clinic options for Brisbane locals from today as we accelerate our efforts to get more Queenslanders vaccinated,” Minister D’Ath says.

“These clinics have capacity to vaccinate a huge number of patrons at any one time, with the Brisbane Entertainment Centre community vaccination clinic able to see 82 patrons at once.

“This walk-in model is set to make getting vaccinated against COVID-19 even more convenient for our community and we are so excited to be a part of that.”

Those interested in a walk-in appointment are encouraged to pre-register their details online to save time at check-in upon arrival, although not essential, and can do so here: https://www.vaccinebookings.health.qld.gov.au/registerforvaccination/
