It’s the third Queensland store for Australia’s leading cruise retailer. Store Manager Kate Moulton joins the brand with experience and community knowledge, having led Flight Centre North Lakes for more than 10 years.
“Cruiseabout is working exclusively on cruise packages. The team members are all experienced cruisers. They’ve done lots of cruises themselves and they’re passionate about it,” Kate explains.
“We’re really working to source exclusive deals that our customers can’t get anywhere else. Whether that be river cruise, ocean, expedition … we want to stand out in that market as being experts and specialists.
“There’s almost one million Australians due to go on a cruise this year and it’s constantly innovating … the amount of ships that are coming, the options for our customers … so, to have us training and knowing that product, we can really help to match the customer to the perfect cruise for them.”
Kate says her team is constantly growing their knowledge of what’s on offer – they understand the tours and know the ships.
“We’re firsthand experiencing the vessels, we have great relationships with the cruise suppliers and representatives,” she says.
Their focus is on matching their customers to the right cruise for them.
“It really is true that the world is your oyster at the moment and we’re there to help you find that right cruise,” Kate says
“The good thing is that we’re specialists in travel as well as cruise, so we can help with the complete package.
“We can do your flights, your hotels, your tours, your train travel around that cruise.”
So, why is cruising such a great way to travel?
“It is easy. It really takes the hassle out of travel. They’re really homing in on cuisine, the food that you can have onboard is world class,” Kate explains.
“The luxury ships have Michelin Star chefs on board. The entertainment is also world class – you see Broadway theatre shows. You can be off the ship one day in Santorini and then hop back on for an amazing dinner and show.
“We’re really seeing a trend in multi-generational holidays – the grandparents going with the grandkids and sharing those experiences. It really can offer something for everyone.”
Cruiseabout North Lakes can help customers plan and book any type of cruise they can imagine including river, ocean and expedition.
“We are the specialists in personalised cruise itinerary. We really want to work in that bespoke itinerary area – whatever you want to happen, we can make that happen,” Kate says
“We have amazing cruise products, but they’re all flexible.”
