Registrations for the My Health Team MS Swimathon at Redcliffe War Memorial Pool have opened.

MS Queensland is calling on locals to sign up to the 12-hour swimming relay on May 15, 6am-6pm to support Queenslanders living with multiple sclerosis (MS).

Slip on your swimmers, grab at least four team members, and make a splash for MS.

The My Health Team MS Swimathon is one of seven events across Queensland in 2022 that will raise vital funds for MS information, specialist nursing services, and wellness programs.

Massive impact

The event has been hosted in Redcliffe since 2018, with 2021 MS Swimathon seeing over 120 swimmers dive in and raise more than $31,000 for the cause.

MS Queensland’s Fundraising Events Manager Claire Hughes said the day makes a massive impact for those with MS.

“It’s a great day out for anyone looking to take on a challenge for a good cause. Passionate swimmer or not, we welcome everyone to get involved. It means the world to those affected by MS and their families,” Ms Hughes said.

“We have so many enthusiastic teams who take part every year that dress up and give it their all on the day. We’re so thankful that Redcliffe is excited to have us back.”

Team effort

My Health Team is again a committed sponsor of the event. Managing Director Andrew Simpson explained they are uniquely placed to make huge improvements to the lives of those living with MS.

“Working with MS for years, My Health Team’s physiotherapist’s, exercise physiologists, dieticians and psychologists continue to sharpen their skills and collaborate to help those with MS get the most out of life,” Mr Simpson said.
