Artists from across the region are invited to showcase their talent and creativity in the 2025 Moreton Bay Art Prize and Outdoor Art Prize.
Applications are now open with artists having until April 12 to enter before works are exhibited from May to July.
"Art has the power to connect, inspire and enrich people’s lives while making us reflect on who we are,” Mayor Peter Flannery said.
“The Moreton Bay Art Prize is not just an art competition; it’s a celebration of creativity, talent, diversity, and the spirit of our community.
“It’s also an opportunity to bring people together to shine a light on our local artists and their unique masterpieces and gain the recognition they deserve.
"Brilliant way"
“The Outdoor Art Prize in particular is a brilliant way to bring art into everyday life, enabling residents and visitors to experience creativity in unexpected places across the city.”
Selected works will be exhibited at the Pine Rivers Art Gallery from May 24-July 19 with a prize pool totalling $10,000.
The Awards Night is on June 28. First prize wins $5000, second place $3000, third place $1500 and $500 for the People’s Choice Award.
Visitors can vote for their favourite artwork, with the People’s Choice winner announced after the exhibition closes.
The Moreton Bay Art Prize celebrates artists aged 18 and over who libe in City of Moreton Bay or identify as Kabi Kabi, Turrbal, or Jinibara First Nations peoples.
No restrictions
There are no restrictions on themes or categories, allowing artists to freely express their creativity with original artwork created within the last two years.
The Outdoor Art Prize offers six artists an opportunity to display their work in high-traffic outdoor locations across City of Moreton Bay.
Selected artworks will be printed on vinyl banners and exhibited from May 19-June 16.
Artists may enter one artwork for the Moreton Bay Art Prize and/or one for the Outdoor Art Prize. Submissions are free and must comply with all eligibility and submission guidelines.
