Caboolture’s Sarah Gutzke has become a model mum, after one of Australia’s largest department stores spotted her on social media.
Kmart invited the mother-of-two, who works in real estate, to join its March Apparel campaign which puts customers in the spotlight.
Sarah, who grew up in Moorina before moving to Caboolture, was one of eight Kmart customers invited to model the new womenswear range.
She was nervous before the photoshoot but delighted with the results and is now fronting the brand on national billboards and digital marketing
“I have never done anything like that before but thought it would be a fun opportunity to be a part of and enjoy doing things outside of my comfort zone,” she said.
“They (pictures) are great. It was a really fun experience and my little claim to fame that I get to be a part of a Kmart campaign.
“All of my friends and family have been so excited for me, which is so nice!”
Kmart identified some of its most passionate shoppers from their social media content and invited them to star in the campaign.
“When we saw the incredible creativity customers were sharing across social media, we knew we had to turn the camera back on them,” Rennie Freer, GM of Marketing for Kmart, said.
The Kmart team discovered Sarah through her TikTok page, where she was posting postpartum with her second baby.
She started the posts “as a little creative outlet” and “bit of fun to share my everyday mum life and love for colourful fashion”.
“I created some Kmart related videos like hauls, shopping trips etc and they (Kmart) found me through that,” Sarah said.
“It has opened up the door to a lot of fun opportunities to work alongside some of my favourite brands.”
However, Sarah does not plan any more modelling. “I love real estate and will stick with that career - along with being a mum and a content creator on the side!” she said.
