Families and individuals who are homeless, in crisis, struggling to put food on the table, or face the possibility of being alone this Christmas, are being encouraged to reach out for help and support during the holidays.

A number of community organisations, neighbourhood centres, charities and churches throughout Moreton Bay will be available to spread some Christmas cheer by providing food hampers, community meals and more to people in need.

Here is a full list of where you can go to for help this Christmas.

The list of services will continue to be updated as more information comes through.

In the lead up to Christmas, Caboolture Community Care will be putting together Christmas hampers, with a list to be compiled throughout November.

The centre will be open until December 21 and will continue doing their normal services assisting with food vouchers and other forms of emergency relief.

They will then reopen on January 8, 2024.

If you need assistance, phone 5495 6400 and press option 1, or visit the website.

Caboolture Neighbourhood Centre

To help families who are struggling to make Christmas a special time for their family, the centre will be hosting a Family Fun Day on December 14. There will be lots of activities to entertain both kids and adults, as well as food.

Families can also drop into the centre and receive a free meal on Mondays from 5-6pm, with the last meal for the year being on December 11.

The Monday meal service will then resume on January 15, 2024.

The centre will be closed during the holiday period from December 22 and reopening on January 2, 2024.

In the hampers people will find items like cereals, canned goods, pasta, long-life milk, fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as bread.
