Scarborough’s Miss Sprinkles Gelato is known for a huge array of gelato, sorbet and sweet treats but also a strong connection with community organisations and events.
The shop, which has been operating for just over one year at Landsborough Ave, Scarborough Beach, offers up to 30 different flavours at any one time.
Owner Nicola White says her handmade gelato is made with love and the finest ingredients.
“All our gelato made is from Italian ingredients and we have won various awards over the last two years for our gelato offerings,” Nicola explains.
“There are various dietary options available such as dairy, vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free and lactose-free. We also offer cakes, slices, lollies, coffees, shakes, savoury treats that all pair well with gelato and sorbet. Acai is also on our menu.
“Our shop is a joy to visit, we have lots of colour, flowers, cosy corners, colouring-in books to enjoy, a magical vibe when entering that allows kids to be ‘wow’ed when they walk in and something they will remember and want to return to.”
Nicole is passionate about giving back to the community that supports her business.
“We support our community in various ways - sponsor regular school sports activities, individual sporting ventures, cycling events and podium places, various festivals and community events held throughout the year - donating vouchers, or money to help with operational costs,” she explains.
“We are also passionate about helping disability and accessibility customers to our venue, so they can enjoy a day out by the beach.”
Nicola says she supports the Redcliffe Show, Red Music and Dance at Rothwell, a Jazz and Shiraz event and Redcliffe KiteFest. She hopes to add more to the list by the end of this year.
“Supporting local events, community groups and children’s sport is important to us as we want to be involved with community to give back for the loyalty we get from the local residents and outer lying communities,” she explains.
“We feel that it is important as a business to show appreciation and give back to the community where we can.”
Miss Sprinkles Gelato is at 209/113 Landsborough Ave, Scarborough Beach.
It is open Monday to Wednesday 10am-8.30pm, Thursday 9.30am-8.30pm, Friday 9.30am-9pm, Saturday 8.30am-9pm, Sunday 8.30am -8.30pm every day (except Christmas Day and Boxing Day).
