Gig central: 43 big shows to entertain audiences of all ages

The Redcliffe Entertainment Centre is known for bringing in plenty of big names and acts for residents to enjoy, meaning they don’t have to travel into Brisbane to see world-class entertainment.

Over the next seven months, the centre will play host to 43 big shows, featuring award-winning singers, rocking tribute bands, hilarious comedians, spellbinding magicians and all-round entertainers.

Here is a full guide on what performances residents can sing, dance and laugh along to.

  • Aladdin Junior - Grace Lutheran Primary

Students from Grace Lutheran Primary School are ready to take to the stage to present their upcoming show Aladdin Junior, after many weeks of rehearsals.

The show will last for approximately one hour and will be held on Friday, June 10 from 6pm-7.05pm, as well as from 2pm-3.05pm on Saturday, June 11 and again that night from 6-7.05pm.

  • Tenori – Moment by Moment

Three of Australia’s favourite tenors will perform a wide range of classic songs from the world of opera, musical theatre, jazz and everything else in between.

This show will be performed on Tuesday, June 14 from 11am-12.30pm.

  • Remember the Days of Cat Stevens

Australian country music star Darren Coggan will be performing a wide range of number one hits by Cat Stevens, with Peace Train, Moonshadow, Wild World, Morning Has Broken, Where Do the Children Play and Father and Son all on the set list.

  • Ross Noble – On The Go

Award-winning comedian Ross Noble (pictured above) will have the audience in fits of laughter when he brings his new show to Redcliffe on Thursday, June 23.

Ross will be smashing ideas together in the pursuit of fun when he takes to the stage at 8pm.

  • Redcliffe Musical Theatre presents Oliver

Join young, orphaned Oliver Twist as he navigates London’s underworld of theft and violence, searching for a home, a family, and most importantly, love.

Presented by actors and actresses from Redcliffe Musical Theatre, the show will be performed over five big days from Friday, July 8 to Sunday, July 22.

  • Good Morning Vietnam, Music from the Vietnam War Era - Live in Concert!

Audiences will have the chance to relive an array of treasured and symbolic songs from the 1960s and 1970s that featured on the airwaves during the Vietnam War at this upcoming show on Friday, July 22 at 7.30pm.

Included on the set list are songs by Creedence Clearwater Revival, Buffalo Springfield, Steppenwolf, The Beatles, Nancy Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, The Animals, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye and many more.

  • Two of Us – The Songs of Lennon and McCartney

Damien Leith and Darren Coggan (pictured above) will come together on stage to celebrate the songbook of two of the most inspiring songwriters of all time, John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

They will take to the stage on Saturday, July 23 at 7.30pm, where they will perform some of their biggest hit songs including Hey Jude, All You Need Is Love, Help, Imagine, Mull of Kintyre, Eleanor Rigby, Let It Be, Jealous Guy, Beautiful Boy and Blackbird.

  • The Beehives 60s Tribute Show

Gold Coast singers Miss Mandy, Lee and Paula will bring lots of high energy, sweet harmonies and all the groovy dance styles of the 60s and 70s when they take to the stage on Tuesday, July 26.

When the curtain rises at 11am, they trio, along with their stage band, will belt out hit after hit by artists such as The Supremes, Carole King, Aretha Franklin, Gloria Gaynor, ABBA and more.

  • Robertson Brothers '1960s Variety TV Show'

Take a trip down memory lane with this amazing interactive live TV Variety Show featuring hits from The Seekers, Bee Gees, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Neil Sedaka and The Everly Brothers.

Presented by the Roberston Brothers, who grew up in a home that appreciated the Variety TV Show, they are excited to bring this new live touring show to the centre on Friday, July 29. The show will be held from 8-10.30pm.

  • Judy & Liza

Theatre group Lynch and Paterson are set to go over the rainbow in their upcoming show, where they pay homage to the life and songs of mother and daughter stage darlings, Judy Garland and Liza Minelli.

The 1.5 hour show will be performed at the centre at 11am on Tuesday, August 2.

  • A Salute to 50s and 60s Rock ‘n Roll

The multi award-winning Williams Brothers, who are the sons of one of Australia’s leading Rock ‘n’ Roll pioneers, Warren Williams, will continue the tradition of one of the greatest eras in music history at their upcoming show.

When they take to the stage at 8pm on Saturday, August 6, the Williams Brothers will pay tribute to music legends like Elvis, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, The Monkees and The Hollies, just to name a few.

  • The Highwaymen

Canadian international performer and producer Dail Platz , along with Brent Lillie, John Guyer, Dallas Southam and Laurie Keating, have re-created the magic that is The Highwaymen.

Their performance, which will be shown at the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, August 9 at 11am, will feature outstanding musicianship with pedal steel guitar, acoustic and electric guitars, drums, banjo, accordion, fiddle and harmonica.

  • JPY - 50 Years Young - The Anniversary Tour

Love is in the Air singer John Paul Young (pictured above) is hitting the road again for his 50th anniversary tour, with a show scheduled for the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre at 8pm on Friday, August 12.

The tour will take you on a journey in songs and stories from Glasgow and Scotland to the shores of Australia and back around the world again, with John performing the songs that bought him national and international stardom.

  • BABBA - An International ABBA Spectacular

Bring your dancing shoes and join the party as BABBA celebrate the songs of the 70s supergroup ABBA and the legacy they gave the world at their upcoming show, which will begin at 8pm on Saturday, August 13.

Not a single hit is missed as audiences become choirs, singing along, and on many occasions taking over the vocal lead, to songs as familiar as their own names,

  • Australian Army Band

The Australian Army Band is set to rock the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre with its 1940s-themed big band show when they take to the stage at 11am on Tuesday, August 16.

The band often performs for military and community audiences across the state and tends to draw a big turnout from music lovers.

  • Mirusia, Songbird - A Life in Song

Mirusia, one of the world’s favourite classical cross-over artists, will perform her new show with stories that trace her humble beginnings as an aspiring young Queensland singer to international soprano sensation.

She will be appearing on stage from 7.30-9.30pm on Friday, August 19.

  • Echoes of Pink Floyd

Fans of Pink Floyd will be treated to an extensive exploration of the band’s impressive catalogue as the gang from Echoes of Pink Floyd plays all of Pink Floyd’s biggest smash hits, as well as some lovingly hand-picked deep album cuts designed to please the most committed of hard-core fans.

  • Popera

Popera Classics presents a sensational fully produced show featuring an extraordinary cast of singers as they perform a stunning diverse selection of classics and hits from many of your favourite movies and musicals.

The show will be performed at 11am on Tuesday, August 23, and feature hit songs from movies such as The Greatest Showman and Cats, to Broadway musicals such as The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables and Mama Mia.

  • British Pop Icons

Celebrate the best of the UK’s favourite pop stars, including Adele, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, at this upcoming show presented by Lynch and Paterson.

  • From A Beautiful Place - The Lakes College Dance Troupes

Local dancers will be taking to the stage for their mid-year performances on Sunday, August 28, with two big shows.

The first show will be held from 2-3.30pm, while the second show will be held from 6-7.30pm.

  • The Best of the Bee Gees with Colin 'Smiley' Petersen

The Best of the Bee Gees brings a catalogue of mega-hits and first-hand stories from original Bee Gees drummer Colin “Smiley” Petersen, who will perform over two big nights.

  • Sensationally Sondheim!

Featuring some of the Gold Coast’s most talented singers and dancers, they will perform songs from one of Broadway’s master composers and lyricists – Stephen Sondheim.

This musical revue from Top Hat Productions will be shown at the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, September 13 at 11am.

  • Grace Academy Dance Showcase 2022

An annual evening celebrating the classroom work of the Rothwell Campus Dance students and the Grace Academy Dance Troupes. The night includes teacher devised and student choreographed works capturing a wide variety of dance genres and styles including, musical theatre, contemporary, jazz and cultural dances, just to name a few.

The show will last for approximately two hours, including an interval, and will be performed on Wednesday, September 14 at 6.30pm.

  • Elvis - If I Can Dream

Internationally acclaimed sensation Mark Anthony, one of the most dynamic tribute artists in the world today, will transport you to that very time when Elvis Presley ruled the world and dominated the record charts in the 50s, 60s and 70s with his unique raw energy, dynamic voice and sensational stage presence.

  • Glen's Magic Show

Young children will be left in awe at the magic tricks that Glen has up his sleeve, which he will show you during his upcoming show.

Glen will be delighting kids and adults on Tuesday, September 20 at his morning show, which begins at 11am.

  • Gold Dust Woman: The Ultimate Tribute to Fleetwood Mac

This show will give the audience a glimpse into the musical career of the super-group Fleetwood Mac and Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, Stevie Nicks.

When the show hits the stage at 7.30pm on Friday, September 23, the audience will hear a number of hit songs including Rhiannon, Dreams, Go Your Own Way, Gold Dust Woman and more.

  • The Spirit of Leonard Cohen

Celebrate the music and life of Leonard Cohen when Jonathan Anstock and his soulful band perform some of Cohen’s most iconic songs.

  • The Magnificent Bubble Show

From cute tiny bubbles to stunning giant bubbles so big you can stand inside them, there is plenty of fun and laughter to be had this upcoming show.

  • Leaving Jackson - The Johnny Cash and June Carter Show

This tribute is dedicated to the music, love and lives of Johnny Cash and June Carter.

  • Albums Turning 50 - The 1972 Edition

An outstanding group of musicians will deliver plenty of timeless classic from some of the most important albums of 1972, including records from The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young, Elton John and more.

  • Carole King's Tapestry

See an intimate rendition of Carole King's beloved and timeless hits, 50 years after the release of Tapestry. Songs such as I Feel the Earth Move, You’ve Got a Friend, (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman, It’s Too Late and Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.

  • 50 Years On Queen Bohemian Rhapsody

Fans of her majesty Queen and Freddie Mercury can rock along to songs such as We Will Rock You, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Are The Champions, Radio Ga Ga, I Want To Break Free, Another One Bites the Dust, and of course the infamous Bohemian Rhapsody at this upcoming tribute show.

  • Menopause The Musical

This sidesplitting musical parody is set to classic tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s, and was inspired by a hot flash and a bottle of wine.

Celebrating its 21st anniversary he original New York and Las Vegas hit Menopause The Musical is coming to the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre on Tuesday, October 25. The show will be held from 7.30-9pm.

  • Matt Hollywood Illusionist

Matt Hollywood, who is one of Australia’s most recognised comedy entertainers and magicians, will be appearing in Moreton Bay on Wednesday, November 2. The show will begin at 11am.

His show will feature plenty of comedy, impressive magic tricks and illusions that will leave you scratching your head in wonder.

  • Mirusia Christmas Memories

Internationally renowned star soprano Mirusia will make another appearance on Wednesday, November 16, but this time with her show titled Christmas Memories.

The show will feature a selection of songs that made Mirusia world famous with Andre Rieu as well as a collection of many holiday favourites from her Christmas Memories album.

  • Songs of Hollywood

Two vocalists and a pianist from Lynch and Paterson will take to the stage for a timeless celebration of songs from Hollywood’s Golden Era, such as Louis Armstrong, Gene Kelly, Doris Day and more.

  • The Australian Army Band Christmas Show

Enjoy all your favourite Christmas songs with this highly acclaimed band. The Australian Army Band (pictured above), known throughout South-East Queensland as one of the finest military bands in Australia, regularly performs for audiences at the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre.

They will be appearing once again on Tuesday, December 13 from 11am-12.30pm.
