Golden haul for PK trio

North Lakes-based PK Taekwondo fighters have struck gold again – this time in the Sunshine Coast Open tournament.

Evan Han won the Cadet -41kg section and the Best Male Athlete trophy at USC Stadium on Sunday.

It was his final preparation before lining-up at the Oceania Championship in Liverpool on March 28.

Last month Han finished third in his division at the selection trials to book his place at the Oceania titles.

It was fine display coming through five fights in one day last month to earn his place on the Australian team.

Club colleague Liam Sevenster won gold medals in two Junior -73kg divisions at Sippy Downs over the weekend.

Daham Warakaulle repeated the feat with two golds from two Cadet -45kg divisions.

PK Taekwondo was represented by 11 coaches and 40 competitors at the seventh annual Sunshine Coast Open.
