Help shape Lakes future

Draft plans for a major revamp of Centenary Lakes are now open for community feedback.
Work started in 2021 to upgrade the Caboolture complex with input from sports clubs, residents and visitors during 2022.
The resulting draft interim plan is a “short-to-medium-term strategy (present to 10 years) to improve facilities, strengthen flood resilience, address parking and accessibility”.
Key upgrades being proposed include:
- a redeveloped 400m natural turf athletics track and spectator seating
- new junior rugby league field
- new netball/multi-purpose courts
- redevelopment former Caboolture Bowls Club site into community/events space
- improved internal access roads and car parking
Cr Adam Hain (Div 3) said, in his latest newsletter, it started with a “conversation onsite in 2017 about the old wedding precinct and surrounding parklands”.
From there it “quickly grew into a much bigger version for the entire Centenary Lakes precinct”, Cr Hain said.
“Importantly, this plan is not just about sport. Upgrades to pedestrian paths, car parking and accessibility will help make the park more welcoming and inclusive for all.”
A new playground and water play area are proposed, while the tennis and BMX facilities are still being considered as part of “on-going planning and future site-wide discussions”.
Community Consultation of the draft plan is open until Wednesday September 24, 2025 at 4pm. Review the plan by clicking here.
Feedback can be given through the online survey or by emailing to [email protected]
The feedback will be considered ahead of a final plan for Centenary Lakes before it goes to Council for endorsement.
