Entries are about to open for Queensland’s longest running fun run – the Jetty 2 Jetty Fun Run.

Registrations for the 2022 Jetty 2 Jetty will open from Wednesday January 5, with a limited allocation of the super early bird entries available.

The 2022 event will be held on Sunday July 17 at Pelican Park, Clontarf, from 5.30-10.30am, but organisers are urging those interested to register early as categories are again expected to sell out.

“Last year’s Jetty 2 Jetty was hugely popular,” Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) CEO Shane Newcombe said.

“We had a waiting list a mile long for people wanting to register for sold out race categories.”

Set records

The 2022 event will again offer a range of categories for runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels, including 3km, 5km, 10km and 21km (half marathon).

“After successfully introducing the 10km Elite Wheelchair category in 2021, we are proud to include this as part of the 2022 event program,” Mr Newcombe said.

“MBRIT is committed to taking even further steps to making all of our events more inclusive and accessible.”

Jetty 2 Jetty recently made strides onto the national and international stage by achieving official race course certification from AIMS.

“Our event runners are now eligible to set records and achieve marathon qualification points by participating in the J2J,” Mr Newcombe said.

Most scenic

Widely regarded as Queensland’s most scenic fun run, the Jetty 2 Jetty course is set against the stunning Moreton Bay Marine Park, treating runners to views of Moreton Island.

Entry prices include official 2022 merchandise with 21km and 10km entrants receiving a J2J singlet, while 3km and 5km entrants get a J2J cap.

Merchandise is also available for purchase at the time of registering. Runners can save more on their entry fee by signing up, or joining, a team of 10 or more by May 2, which scores them a 10 per cent discount.
