A 41-year-old Bray Park man faces a string of charges after a series of incidents between March and June across multiple suburbs in Greater Brisbane.
The man has been charged with drug driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, obstructing police, two counts of unlicenced driving, three counts of evading police, 21 counts of stealing, 15 counts of disqualified driving, five counts of receiving tainted property, and seven counts of using a vehicle with false number plates.
He has also been charged with multiple offences relating to a series of alleged fuel drive-offs where false or stolen plates were fitted to his vehicle.
The charges related to alleged offences in Hendra, Brendale, Caboolture, Deception Bay, Geebung, Herston, Yarraman, Eagle Farm, Ascot, Morayfield, Strathpine, Springwood, Ormeau, Enoggera, Lawnton, and Bald Hills.
Police allege the man evaded police when they attempted to intercept him on the D’Aguilar Highway at Woolmar on June 14.
At 7.30am on June 15, police from Sandgate responded to a call regarding a suspect vehicle at Windeyer St, Bald Hills.
Polair called in
When police attended, they allegedly found the man asleep in the locked vehicle.
Police say they woke the man, who then allegedly reversed the vehicle, narrowly missing one of the officers, and fled from the scene.
About 9.17am on June 27, police intercepted a purple Ford Falcon on the D’Aguilar Highway at Colinton.
They allege the driver, the 41-year-old Bray Park man, supplied police with a false name then drove off.
They also allege he was driving dangerously including crossing double white lines, driving on the wrong side of the road, and at one point, driving towards a police vehicle.
Polair followed the vehicle until it allegedly stopped due to running out of fuel, on Mill St, Landsborough at 11.12am.
The man is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on August 2.
