The Urban Country Music Festival is coming back to Caboolture after a nine-year hiatus.
It will return to the festival’s original venue, Caboolture Showgrounds, off Beerburrum Rd, on Saturday October 4.
The festival is hosted by 121 Networks Ltd, a not-for-profit organisation raising funds to help women over 55 who are facing homelessness.
A free launch, with live performances announcing the line-up, will be at Caboolture Country Markets, in Caboolture Showgrounds, on Sunday February 9, at 10am.
On that day, tickets for the returning Urban Country Music Festival will also go on sale.
Ownership
“Caboolture is where the city meets the country,” Councillor Adam Hain (Div 3) said.
“This event always belonged here and it is great to see the community take ownership and bring it back.”
The festival will bring more live music to Caboolture and raise money to support women at risk of homelessness in the region.
All proceeds and funds will go directly to the Angelus Community which provides safe and stable housing solutions in the City of Moreton Bay.
The 121 Network says women over 55 represent our fastest growing cohort of homeless people, often experiencing homelessness for longer periods of time.
"Great opportunity"
Eric Whitehouse, who is leading the festival’s return, said the original was a big hit with country music fans and City of Moreton Bay residents.
He aims for the new festival to combine entertainment and affordable family fun with a purpose – tackling this serious issue in our community.
“The Urban Country Music Festival will be a great opportunity for this region and we are excited to announce the event including the line up on February 9,” he said.
Entry to the launch event is free and bookings are not required.
