Waraba is springing to life with construction surging at its first residential development, Lilywood Landings.
The first four stages of the new city are now virtually complete and with a high proportion of owner-occupiers, residents and families are moving in.
Major infrastructure and environmental works are also progressing with bulk earthworks being finalised and construction of the community’s waterway continuing.
Rehabilitation of the Green Network along the Caboolture River will soon begin and Waraba’s first park is nearing completion.
The park includes a river valley themed playground for children, shelters, kick and throw footy spaces plus a half-court for basketball.
Lennium Development Manager Ian Worthington said the construction progress at Waraba over the past 18 months had been extraordinary.
“You can feel the community coming alive with every new home completed, every family that moves in, and every milestone we achieve on site,” he said.
Formerly known as Caboolture West, Waraba, which means “burn” in the Kabi Kabi language, is a 40-year project in the City of Moreton Bay.

It will eventually supply around 30,000 homes plus schools, parks, sporting fields and a town centre for an expected population of 70,000 people – approximately the size of Mackay.
Lilywood Landings as seen hundreds of lots sold since the first land release in mid-2024. The next stage is due for release in early October.
“Lilywood Landings is giving local families and first home buyers a genuine opportunity to secure a home at an affordable price point, while enjoying access to the lifestyle and amenity that comes with being part of a brand-new city,” Mr Worthington said.
