Moreton Police District has welcomed 10 new Constables who will boost the ranks at Redcliffe, Petrie, North Lakes/Mango Hill, Caboolture, Burpengary, Deception Bay and Woodford stations.
The officers are now on the job after graduating with a class of 136 constables who were sworn in to the Queensland Police Service on January 30.
Acting Chief Superintendent Adam Guild was at Burpengary station to welcome the officers to the district.
The officers will undergo 12 months of station-based training as First Year Constables (FYCs).
Constables Westermann, Pool, Plant, Burt, Bachmann, Jon, Belesky, Genero, Magee and Mason have worked in various sectors before joining the QPS including retail sales, Policelink, protective services, production management, baking and insurance quality control.
Three officers will be stationed at Redcliffe, two at Petrie and one each at North Lakes/Mango Hill, Caboolture, Burpengary, Deception Bay and Woodford stations.
Constable Bachmann joined the QPS as a Protective Services officer in 2021. It had always been in the back of his mind to become an officer and, after encouragement from a friend, he decided to give it a go.
“I am definitely looking forward to a change of pace in work and just getting out there and helping out the community. If you are considering joining, jump in,” he says.
Constable Westerman wanted to join for a new challenge and a career with plenty of opportunities.
“The study can be a challenge, so be prepared to put in the hard work and great results will follow,” he says.
The 10 FYCs will join 76 others serving in the Moreton District.
