A new $530,000 pump track - designed for children, teens and adults - has opened at Deception Bay.
Mayor Peter Flannery said the new facility complements recent upgrades to Deception Bay Skate Park.
“Our community loves being outdoors and it’s important that we continue to invest in spaces that encourage active lifestyles, community connection, and time spent in the open spaces Moreton Bay has to offer,” he said.
“We’ve seen the popularity of the Deception Bay Skate Park skyrocket since it was upgraded and the community has called for more outdoor recreation activities that cater towards differing ages and skill levels.
“Our most recent Council-delivered pump track in Murrumba Downs is a huge success with local families, and we’re confident this new pump track, and another planned in Woodford, will become a hub of activity for local riders and visitors.”
Councillor Sandra Ruck (Div 5) said the new track was designed for friends and families to have fun.
“As pump tracks quickly grow in popularity, we knew one designed for kids, teens and adults would be a perfect addition to the Deception Bay community,” she said.
“Being right near our local PCYC and existing skate park is the perfect spot.”
Other Council pump tracks are at John Scott Park, Samford and Blatchford Reserve, Murrumba Downs.
