On trail of region's talented artists

The doors have opened on this year’s Samford Arts Trail - a free arts showcase across Dayboro, Yugar, Clear Mountain, Cashmere .... and Samford.

Presented by Creative Samford, the 2025 trail has more than 50 artists across 26 studios and art spaces until Sunday, June 22.

Each location offers a distinct artistic experience, from studios run by individual artists to three larger galleries and group exhibitions.

One of the Samford & Surrounds Arts Trail & Open Studios stops is The Pavilion Artists, a group exhibition by seven artists at Dayboro Showgrounds.

Coral Morton, a natural collage artist, uses elements such as leaves, bark and other materials from the environment to craft her distinctive pieces.

Ceramic artists Ann Gillespie and Linda Back bring a tactile, sculptural approach to the showcase, while Kylie Harries captivates visitors as a painter and printmaker.

Jill Lincoln, Trudy Brooks, and Joanne Donald favour traditional mediums, but their creations span lively caricatures to floral compositions and stunning landscapes. 

Dayboro is a gem on the trail. With four additional stops nearby, Dayboro has a cultural experience for art lovers as well as coffee shops, eateries and scenery.

Samford & Surrounds Arts Trail is also a chance to be creative with some participating artists hosting workshops for a variety of skills and interests.

Whether you’re intrigued by watercolour techniques, eager to craft a hat hanger or curious about macramé knots, there’s a session available.

Workshops include learning to use pastels, exploring Degas techniques and sessions designed for children.

The Samford and Surrounds Arts Trail & Open Studios continues each Saturday and Sunday until Sunday June 22.
