Strathpine-based Platypus Dental has returned as a Moreton Daily Strategic Partner in 2026, continuing its support of independent local journalism after first coming on board in 2025.
Principal dentist Dr Yi (Terry) Pu said the decision to return reflected a strong alignment of values and a shared commitment to supporting the local community.
“Since last year, we found that our values and Moreton Daily’s values are really aligned,” Dr Pu said.
“We believe in ethical, supportive approaches, and we want to make sure independent, free journalism continues to be supported.”
Dr Pu said supporting Moreton Daily again in 2026 was an easy decision.
“We supported Moreton Daily last year, and this year it’s exactly the same. We believe it’s always the best thing to do for the community to support free, independent journalism.”
Supporting trusted local voices
Dr Pu said access to trusted, locally based news sources was increasingly important for the community.
“There’s a lot of noise in mainstream media. We believe it’s best for the community to get information directly from people who actually live locally, without fear-mongering.”
He said that commitment to calm, community-focused reporting was why Platypus Dental was proud to continue backing a local platform.
“That’s why we’re standing here again this year as a Strategic Partner.”
A shared commitment to community
Platypus Dental is a locally based dental practice in Strathpine, providing care to patients across the City of Moreton Bay.
Dr Pu said the practice places a strong emphasis on ethics, patient care and long-term trust within the community.
“Our focus has always been on looking after people properly.”
Moreton Daily Partnerships Manager Lyndsay Lawler said it was great to welcome Platypus Dental back as a Strategic Partner.
“Dr Pu and the team at Platypus Dental genuinely care about their patients and the wider community,” Lyndsay said.
“Their decision to return as a Strategic Partner reflects a strong belief in the importance of trusted local voices and independent journalism.”
