Police appeal over stolen vehicles
Words by Nick Crockford

Police are asking for public help to find a number of vehicles reported stolen across the Moreton District in the past fortnight.

You can search to see if a vehicle is an active stolen vehicle through the online stolen vehicle portal.

Pictured vehicles are shown as last sighted, number plates may have changed since sighting as thieves often steal, remove and swap plates to avoid or delay detection whilst committing offences.

Police say residents should not attempt to approach vehicles reported stolen.

If you see the vehicles, report it to Policelink on 131 444 and quote the corresponding reference number.

Vehicle theft is typically opportunistic, residents can reduce the risk by parking vehicles off the street, behind gates, or in locked garages whenever possible.

Additionally police are urging residents to check their vehicle security and:

  • Remove all valuables from your vehicle.

  • Ensure your vehicle is locked.

  • Do not leave spare keys in your car.

  • Ensure your keys are secured in a safe place out of plain view.

  • Ensure that your home is secure.

If you have information for police, contact Policelink by providing information using the online suspicious activity form 24 hours per day at www.police.qld.gov.au/reporting or call 131 444.

Report crime information anonymously via Crime Stoppers. Call 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestoppersqld.com.au.
