Police round-up: burglar sprung, tools stolen

A compressor and computer router were among the tools stolen when thieves broke into a Bongaree sports club late last month.

Thieves cut padlocks on a gate leading to a utility lane between two buildings at the First Ave site between noon on August 28 and 8am on August 29.

They then removed locks from the locker and maintenance rooms and forced open lockers to steal an electric jigsaw, a drill, battery chargers, power boards and leads.

Burglars strike at Deception Bay

A handbag containing house and vehicle keys and a bottle of wine were stolen from a house on Webster Rd at Deception Bay.

The resident was alerted to the theft when they heard their laundry security screen door closing about 1.30am on August 30.

They called out and turned on a light, which prompted a young male of slim build to flee the home before riding away on a bicycle.

The handbag was later found nearby.

Unlawful entry charges

Vaping products and cash were taken from a Morayfield shop on August 29 after a vehicle drove through the storefront leaving damage to a wall, windows and doorframe.

A rear bumper bar from a white vehicle was found at the scene.

The incident happened at the Leda Boulevard store just after 10pm, with police finding a white vehicle with rear damage in Riverparks Way, Upper Caboolture about 2am on August 30.

At 3.17am, police visited a property in Frenchs Rd, Petrie where they charged a 17-year-old boy with unlawful entry to a premises.

The boy is due to appear in the Caboolture Children’s Court at a later date.

Drug charges

A 37-year-old year old Narangba man has been charged with possession of a relevant substance, disqualified driving, possession of drug utensils, failing to dispose of a syringe, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and receiving tainted property.

He was arrested after Caboolture police intercepted a vehicle on King St at Caboolture just after midnight on August 29.

Police allege the four wheel drive was sporting cloned registration plates and had been reported stolen in May from a property at Buddina.

The man will appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on October 10.
