The figures are in - and the wettest places in our Moreton Bay Region over the last three and six months have been revealed.
Readings provided by Moreton Bay Region Council show Mt Glorious, south-west of Samford, has received almost 4 metres of rain in its gauges since late spring.
It has also copped close to 3 metres during the last three autumn months.
Bellthorpe, at the northern tip of our region, was second in both lists with almost 3 metres of rain in the past six months and more than 1.7m since February.
Ocean View was third with 2.775 metres over the past six months, but was pipped by the Caboolture gauge on Bribie Island Rd in the last three months.
The northern and western parts of Moreton Bay Region dominate charts with Murrumba Downs, Kippa-Ring and Todds Rd, Lawnton just making the top 10 in recent months.
Sadly, the forecast suggests we are also facing a wetter than normal winter and possible spring as the La Nina weather pattern continues.
Historically, the total water storage capacity of Seqwater’s dams stood at 54.8 per cent on November 16, 2020 and 55 per cent on November 1, 2021.
By Valentine’s Day this year it had risen to 70.1 per cent and six days later, on February 22, was at 97.2 per cent. Today’s figure was 88.3 per cent.
All dams are at more than 100 per cent of storage capacity, bar the biggest Wivenhoe (88 per cent), Somerset (80.6 per cent) and North Pine (67.7 per cent) which are all close to their reduced maximum levels during upgrades.
