Craft lovers have the chance to check out the Celebration of Brisbane Embroidery Exhibition at Brendale in August before it heads to Brisbane City Hall.

The exhibition will be at Gladys Mary Studio, The Sheds, 264 South Pine Rd, Brendale, from August 7-9 and will be open from 10am-2pm Thursday and Friday and 9am-5pm Saturday. Entry is free

The exhibition is being co-hosted by The Nest and The Embroiderers' Guild Queensland.

The Guild was invited to take part in Brisbane City Council's Centenary Celebrations, creating work which captured unique Brisbane landmarks, flora or fauna through needlework.

The Nest is hosting a preview of the works and historic pieces, before they are unveiled at Brisbane City Hall.

It’s the perfect opportunity to reminisce about how craft was taught historically and marvel at its vibrancy today.

Patrons can also vote for the People's Choice Award, with a $100 voucher for The Nest Haberdashery up for grabs.
