Welcome boost for Ukrainian family

A raffle for tickets to the sold-out Battle of Brisbane game at Suncorp Stadium last week has raised $10,000 for a family who has settled in Redcliffe after escaping war-torn Ukraine.

Home and land developer Ausbuild, a community Partner of the Dolphins, donated 70 double passes to be raffled for the highly anticipated first game between the Dolphins and Broncos.

Ausbuild Joint Managing Director Matthew Bell says $10,000 has been raised through the raffle and donations from Ausbuild and Dynamic Bradview Roofing.

The money will help support three generations of the Torchinska family and help reunite them with a beloved husband and father who remains in Ukraine. The family fled Ukraine in 2022 and arrived in the Moreton Bay Region with few possessions.

Matthew says the company is thrilled to have been able to help the family.

“The fundraising effort was a win for the Torchinska family and the raffle winners who had a chance to be part of the memorable match when the gallant Dolphins took on the Broncos,” he says.

“Moreton Bay pride was high across the ground on Friday night, and we wish the Torchniska family all the best as they settle into their new home, with the help of the supportive Redcliffe community.’’
