When to see Santa on Queensland Rail trains
Words by Kylie Knight

Santa and his elves will be aboard select Queensland Rail trains each day from December 16-20.

The Santa Express runs on a different line on Queensland Rail’s South East Queensland (SEQ) rail network each day from December 16-20.

There will be plenty of opportunities to snap a photo with the man in the red suit as well as candy canes for all.

From Strathpine to Redcliffe, Caboolture to Dakabin, Santa will be travelling across the rail network in the lead-up to Christmas.

The Salvation Army band will also be bringing Christmas cheer to Central station with carols being played 7-8.30am from December 16-20.

Queensland Rail Head of SEQ Neil Backer says: “If you’re catching the train, you might just spot a very special visitor who’s travelled all the way from the North Pole.

“We love sharing festive cheer and we know the Santa Express, which has been running for more than a decade now, is a much-loved tradition for many of our customers.

“The Santa Express will operate on a different line each day and stopping at several stations, meaning children can give him their Christmas wish list in person.

“To stay on the nice list, make sure you tap on and off with a valid go card, or use a credit/debit card or device, as normal 50 cent fares apply."
