Dolphins hungry for win at home
Published 1:30pm 28 April 2022
The Redcliffe Dolphins are hoping a return home will reset their Hostplus Cup campaign this Saturday at Moreton Daily Stadium.
The side returns to their home ground amid the excitement of playing a curtain-raiser to an NRL match.
The game between the Dolphins and Townsville Blackhawks will kick off at 12.15pm before the 3pm NRL clash between the Warriors and Raiders.
After a disappointing 30-18 round five loss away in Cairns last weekend, Dolphins’ Head Coach Scott Murray is hoping for better luck with the return to home pastures.
The Dolphins have endured four away games in a row against Norths, Wynnum, Burleigh and the Blackhawks.
Their only win this season was against the reigning premiers Norths Devils in round two.
The side’s currently 13th on the ladder but on equal points with 12th-placed PNG Hunters. The Blackhawks are sixth on the ladder.
Hopefully the decent start in last week’s match against the Northern Pride is a sign of things to come.
“We should have won last week after the good start we had,” Murray says.
“I think our first 20 minutes in Cairns is the best 20 minutes we have put together on the field this year.
“It will be a good time to get home and it has been a tough ask on the road.
“We have also spoken about the opportunity playing a match before an NRL game presents – there should be a good home crowd on hand.”
Tickets to the match, that include both the Hostplus Cup and NRL game, are available here.
As the game is immediately before an NRL game, some of the usual entry passes patrons may use to gain access to Hostplus Cup games will be accepted with changed conditions.
These include:
- QRL Player/Team Official passes – these will only be accepted at the access point to the Northern Dressing Rooms for use by players and team officials only.
- 2022 Redcliffe Dolphins Season Tickets – these can still be used for access through any gate. Seating will be in a designated area of the Northern Stand only.
All other tickets sold at the gate will be at NRL Ticketing prices, or can be purchased here.
