Redcliffe Harness Racing Club is gearing up for two of its biggest race nights of the year.
The Patron’s Purse is on June 18 at the Gomersall St track, held in honour of the club patron and huge supporter of racing Chris Garrard.
The Patrons Purse, a three-year-old sales race, has $20,000 prize money, while the Garrards Redcliffe Yearling Sale 3YO Final is worth $50,000.
Night of the Year
Eight days later, on Saturday June 26, it is the Redcliffe Harness Racing Club Night of the Year with major races and musical entertainment.
It includes the Garrards Redcliffe Yearling Sale 2YO Group 1 race worth $100,000, the MBRC Redcliffe Gold Cup and TAB Redcliffe Oaks.
Also, the Northgate Comfort Inn Suites three-year-old Redcliffe Derby, Redcliffe Trotters Cup and Garrards Showcase Race for qualifiers from show racing at such as Warwick, Boonah and Toowoomba.
Chisel Revived
“These are two big events and major nights of racing for the year,” said Redcliffe Harness Racing Club President Bernie Ring.
Ring said this year would see a return to the full race card for the ‘night of the year’ after COVID hit last year’s plans.
After the last race, tribute band Cold Chisel Revived will be playing. Admission to meetings at Redcliffe Harness Racing Club is free.
