Police round-up: wallet, phone stolen from cars

Moreton Bay police have again warned motorists not to leave valuables in their cars after a series of thefts at Warner in recent days.

A wallet was stolen from the centre console of a vehicle parked in Vantage Court after the front passenger window was removed.

The theft happened between 11pm on September 8 and 7am on September 9.

A phone was stolen from a vehicle in Allchin Court, Warner in the early hours of September 9. There were no signs of forced entry.

Two men were captured on CCTV in the area when the thefts took place.

Both wore face masks and one was dressed in a grey jumper, light coloured cap and white shorts.

The other wore black tracksuit pants, a black jumper and black cap.

Car stolen

Wallets, a handbag and keys were stolen from a house in Latona St, Warner between midnight and 4am on September 9.

Thieves then used the keys to steal a grey 2010 Holden Commodore, Queensland registration ALX85.

Two men were seen on CCTV footage trying to open car doors at 11pm in the same street.

Security works

Intruders cut a security screen on the rear door of a property in Brisbane Rd, Warner between midnight on September 8 and 5pm on September 9.

The sliding glass door behind the screen door was locked, and the would-be burglars were un able to gain entry.

Vehicle searched

Burglars also tried to enter a property in Everest St, Warner between 5pm on September 8 and 6am on September 9.

They cut a security screen on a back door was cut and a number of gates and a laundry security door were found open.

A vehicle at the residence was entered and searched, with the rubber seal around a car door was damaged.

Two people were also seen on CCTV trying to open car doors in Brisbane Rd between 1.55am and 2.03am on September 9 but they could not enter the vehicles because they were locked.

Police say the bold behaviour is an important reminder that locking your vehicle and removing valuables and ensuring homes are secure can prevent opportunistic crimes.
