Police have appealed for "information or vision" to help investigations into what residents have described as “next level” hooning.
A QPS spokesperson said police received reports of hooning in a car park on Thurecht Pde, Scarborough around 9pm on Thursday and 8.40pm Friday.
Initial reports suggest there was a “large group of people gathered and multiple cars driving in a dangerous manner”, the spokesperson said.
“Police patrolled the area and observed a group of vehicles. No offences were being committed, but police directed the group to move on.
“Polair was also tasked to this incident to observe the Thurecht Pde area.
“Polair observed approximately 12 vehicles gathered in the vicinity, but no offences were being committed.”
Residents told the Moreton Daily, on Thursday hoons used cars to block off the carpark for racing and left a trail of debris.
Shredded tyres, rubber, skid marks and rubbish angered residents, but they were most worried about public safety.
One feared it would “only a matter of time before someone gets killed".
Hoons returned on Friday night when a local business owner to Moreton Daily around 30 vehicles were on the car park.
Fences were damaged leading the business owner to call for “physical barriers - speed bumps, strategically placed” to tackle the issue.
“Dangerous driving and hooning-related incidents endanger the lives of those involved, but also put innocent members of the public at great risk," the QPS spokesperson said.
“Queensland Police Service will continue to target this type of dangerous behaviour and remain focused on investigating and taking action against those involved."
Anyone with information or vision to assist police with their investigations into this incident is urged to come forward.
