The mystery Gold Lotto winner has been found! A Morayfield woman said this morning her $733,000 in the Saturday Gold Lotto was ‘heaven-sent’ after the passing of a family member.
The Queenslander held one of the seven division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4299 on October 1, 2022 and took home a total prize of $733,492.92.
So far in 2022, there have been nine major lottery prizes in the Moreton Bay Region that have collectively taken home more than $8.88 million in prize money.
When an official from The Lott confirmed the prize with the Moreton Bay resident, she immediately burst into tears.
'I'm in a dream'
“Things like this never happen to us,” she cried. “It’s life-changing — a lot to process! I feel like I’m in a dream and I’m trying to wake up!
“I checked the ticket a thousand times to make sure it was true! I also sent a photo of the winning ticket to my husband and son to double check. It’s crazy.
“We’ve been battlers our whole life. I’m retired now, but my husband still slogs away at work. This will really take the pressure off everything.
“I feel as though my beloved late parents are looking down on me this morning. They always dreamt of winning big one day in Lotto. They did this for me. It’s really special!”
Big plans
With more than $733,000 about to boost her bank account, the woman said she had three plans with her prize.
“We’ve always wanted to buy a caravan and travel around Australia, so we can do that now!” she explained.
“We’ll also arrange to do some renovations around the house. It’s been a long time coming.
“Most importantly, we will help our family that means the most to us — our children and their partners.”
Winning numbers
Her winning entry was bought at Nextra Morayfield Plaza News at Morayfield Shopping Centre. The winning numbers were 40, 25, 32, 20, 30 and 9. Supplementary numbers 34 and 35.
Across Australia, there were seven division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw - three each in Queensland and New South Wales, and one in South Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 340 so far this calendar year, including 79 won by Golden Casket customers.
In FY22, Saturday Gold Lotto created 196 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 324 division one winning in Saturday Gold Lotto entries across Australia that collectively won more than $461.69 million.
