Margate
About Margate
An unassuming seaside village located on the East of the Redcliffe Peninsula; Margate boasts one of the longest mainland stretches of sand beach along the shores of Moreton Bay Marine Park.
Neighbouring suburbs include Redcliffe, Woody Point, and Clontarf.
Margate beach is without a doubt the most popular attraction in Margate, the beach is a 2km coastal stretch spanning the length of the suburb. With pristine golden sand, sheltered waters, timber boardwalks, BBQ facilities, viewing shelters and seating and views across to Moreton Island, Margate Beach is popular with all ages.
To the northern end of Margate is Scotts Point Bathing Pavilion built in 1937, this historic landmark gives an insight into the popular beach life of a time gone by.
Margate CBD is located in the heart of the suburb and includes a mix of retail and commercial businesses that service the locals of the area.
Humpybong State School is the only school in the suburb, secondary schools are located in neighbouring suburbs Redcliffe and Clontarf.
