Christmas sparkle is spreading across the region with residents and businessowners joining in the fun of the inaugural Moreton Daily Christmas Lights in Moreton Bay Region competition.
Nominations have closed for the competition, which has a prize pool of $24,000, but everyone now has the chance to vote for their favourite for a chance to win $1000 cash – thanks to USC.
The People’s Choice categories, presented by Slater + Gordon Lawyers, are best residential property, best apartment complex/street display, best canal display and best business display.
Voting closes on December 19.
The Judges’ Choice categories, presented by Ausbuild, are best residential property display and runner-up best residential property display.
The competition is presented by Moreton Daily with the support of sponsors Ausbuild, Slater + Gordon Lawyers and USC, along with media partners Nine News and Brisbane Kids.
Eligible displays must be within the Moreton Bay Region and visible from 7-9.30pm every night during the judging period, December 6-19.
Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) Chairman Shane Newcombe, publisher of Moreton Daily, says he is thrilled to see so many homes and businesses all lit up and he hopes the public will join in the fun by voting for their favourites.
Mr Newcombe says the competition will also make it easier for residents and visitors to the region to take a tour of the best displays, with an interactive map on the website.
Ausbuild joint Managing Director Matthew Bell says the company is proud to be involved in the inaugural Moreton Daily Christmas Lights in the Moreton Bay Region competition.
“I can’t think of a better way, or time of year, to bring families and neighbours together,” Mr Bell says.
“As a community developer, it’s a great alignment of values for Ausbuild and gives us an opportunity to connect with families across Moreton Bay in a meaningful way.
“The more homes and businesses that get behind this year’s competition, the more we can showcase the community spirit in the region. There are also some incredible cash prizes up for grabs for the winners.”
Ausbuild launched The Sanctuary in Warner in October and plans to launch its new master planned community in Morayfield in early 2022.
