The Dolphins have today announced a partnership with award-winning childcare provider Sesame Lane Care and Kindergarten ahead of their entry to the NRL.
Sesame Lane will be the official Childcare Partner, sharing branding with the Dolphins’ membership category for their youngest supporters, the Baby Flippers club.
The business has 14 centres across the Moreton Bay Region, employing about 400 staff who provide care and educational experiences for more than 1300 families.
It comes after Sesame Lane Care and Kindergarten was named Business of the Year at the 2022 Moreton Bay Business and Innovation Awards.
Head of Sesame Lane Kerri Smith says the company is excited to be partnering with the Dolphins as they enter the NRL.
“Believe it or not, a rugby league team and an early learning centre have a lot in common because the foundation of each is the people and the community,” she says.
“A team brings players together of different ability, physique and social background and players learn to acknowledge and appreciate that the diversity of the team is essential for their team’s success.
“Therefore, the game is a fun and practical way of teaching our children that diversity and cohesion are important to our community’s success.”
Kerry says a partnership with Dolphins NRL made sense because of both entities’ long-time connection with the local community.
“The partnership, for us, is all about the children and our staff. We have some really common values teamwork, resilience, respect … and they’re really important for us to put down to our early childhood children as well as our younger staff. We feel that the synergy and the values match the Dolphins,” she says.
“We’re sponsoring the Baby Flippers. They have some really cute outfits for the little babies and it just helps build community which is really special for us.
“We’re also hoping that we can get some of the players in here to role model to the children and to mentor with them.”
“(There will be) plenty of Baby Flippers to come from Sesame Lane.”
Welcome to the Dolphins family
Dolphins NRL Chief Executive Officer Terry Reader welcomes Sesame Lane into the NRL club’s sponsorship family.
“Sesame Lane is an institution in the Moreton Bay and North Brisbane communities and exactly the type of business the Dolphins want to partner with as we make our debut in the NRL competition,” he says.
“As we move into the national spotlight, we are excited to be partnering with a local brand like Sesame Lane who are based close to our training venue at Redcliffe and play a vital role in our area.
“It’s a wonderful partnership for us to bring to life. We can’t wait to kick things off, starting now.
“A really attractive thing in linking with Sesame Lane is we’re going to make sure we’re building little flippers right from day one, when they come here, this is their team, this is their area and it really fits in with where our club’s based and the people we want to speak to and make sure their fans of our club.”
