A Redcliffe mother and daughter plan to celebrate with their family after winning a $50,000 top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The top prize winning $4 Instant Scratch-Its ticket was bought at Midway News, Shop 2, 544 Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe.
“We purchase Instant Scratch-Its tickets regularly. They’re my mum’s favourite,” the winning daughter said.
“My mum had one Instant Scratch-Its ticket left to scratch and asked me if I wanted to do it.
“We always go halves in anything we win, so I started scratching, and before I knew it, we had one number left to scratch on the $50,000 line.
'Need one more'
“I remember thinking, ‘We only need one more for the big one’.
“I did the self-check panel and confirmed we won something on the ticket. I assumed that it wasn’t anything more than $10.
“We needed number 36 for the top prize, and when I realised we had it, I was in shock.
“I just yelled, ‘Mum! We won it!’.
“These things don’t happen to us, so I just kept checking the ticket over and over. It’s wonderful.
“This is life-enhancing for me. It’s going to be a great help and couldn’t have come at a better time.
Cruise plan
“I want to finalise some payments, upgrade my car and go on my first holiday. I would love to go on a cruise.
“All my mum wants to do is go on a family trip down the coast with all of us, so we’re excited to do that.
Midway News owner Deepak Rawat said the team was elated to have sold their first top prize Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
“We're so happy for the customer and for our outlet. It’s an amazing milestone since we only took over the outlet early this year,” he cheered.
“Seeing regular customers become instant winners has made us so happy. We know how much our customers deserve it.
Celebrate
“We plan to celebrate with the team and our customers by spreading the joy."
In 2021, there were 157 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $10 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players had more than 29.1 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $256.26 million.
The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.
